Some of these temples are a must-see whenever you get the chance.

Siem Reap

Famous for the Angkor Archeological Park, Siem Reap is becoming popular with tourists across the globe. There are extensive ancient temples that date back to the 9 all through to the 15th century. Hundreds of temples were built during that time and this is what has made Siem Reap in Cambodia a favorite destination to tourists.

Despite dating back centuries ago, these ancient temples were not known until French archeologists visited the area and discovered them in the early 1900s. Once here, you will realize the reason the Temples of Angkor, is a top tourist destination in Asia and why it was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The Tiger’s Nest

This is a unique temple that is located in Bhutan, South Asia. The name of this temple otherwise known as the Taktsang Monastery comes from the fact that it is built at the edge of a 3,00ft cliff. One needs to be well prepared physically and mentally to get to the temple as it takes about 3 hours by foot from where you park your car. The temple dates back to the 17th century although it was renovated in the year 1998.

Taj Mahal

If you are considering visiting one of the most spectacular temples in Asia and you are visiting India, the Taj Mahal is not to be missed out. It is one of the most famous temples in the world and actually a top tourist destination in the country.

One interesting highlight of the Taj Mahal is the white marble mausoleum. It is said that it took 22 years to lay it out in flower patterns, encrust it with Koranic verses and precious gems. Besides its spectacular features, the history and the romance of Taj Mahal which Emperor Shah Johan built for his wife back in the 17th century are impressive.
